I finished my album and you will never guess what happened next…

For starters I began eating really well…

fruits

Over the last two years I have been scraping by with the small percentage left over from my recordable income (Read ‘disposable’ for most people) and living off the scant selection of vegetarian food found in the staff cafeteria (white rice and lettuce) and the beer that has been bought for me by happy patrons of the bar I play in with the love of my life Lujeanne in Ruby Bamboo. (Check out where I spend my nights: The Havana Club)

So this month, where before I had mixes and guitar parts I now have spirulina and chia! whoop! 🙂

(Although the next album is hot on the heels of the first one, i’m taking a small hiatus to feed myself…)

The second thing that happened: I stopped drinking

Now that the free beer I used to get is no longer providing me with my basic daily caloric needs I find I have no use for it and from this post until my next drink I vow to be 100% alcohol free 🙂

3: people bought the album and were pleased…

And that’s number 3 on the list, not as in 3 people bought it (although that’s not far off 😉

Although the people that were most pleased to get the album got it for free, i’m not sure if there’s a correlation but the fact remains that people were pleased and that pleases me, if you please.

If you haven’t bought the album yet for some reason like you don’t have a credit card (?) Please go to the supermarket and buy a bag of apples (preferably organic) and a low fat yoghurt (with cash) and give it to a homeless person. Then take a photo of said homeless person receiving the apples and yoghurt with your iPhone(?) or blackberry(?) and email it to me and I will send you a digital copy of the album absolutely free! Everyone’s a winner! 🙂

4: I now have the most expensive album I have ever bought on repeat on my Ipod…

And I wonder if I now have karmic licence to pirate all of the music I want forever more…

5: I am filled with a great relief…

…an almost spiritual sigh of relaxation of having completed something!

It’s not easy to complete stuff when one’s work is to distill the infinite creative essence of the universe and all creation through one’s tiny human brain and to flesh it out with one’s ever evolving views and opinions and experiences and be completely detached to the outcome artistically and financially… and do it all in rhyme.

That kind of thing is better left unfinished… and it still is and always will be unfinished, so one must change one’s definition of completion to allow for public consumption or else I would never get to not finish the next album!

6: Synchronicity showing me that things are as they should be…

Regardless or your belief in coincidence or synchronicity I think these kind of number showing up are pretty cool and quite highly unlikely. These numbers appeared as I was making the first drafts of the post to release “Chase the sun”.

synchro 1

synchro 2

as you can see I hadn’t made much headway in that time but those were the moments that I decided to press save! 🙂 shoo wow…

I hope you are all having a fantastic start to 2014, I wish you all health and happiness!

…and I also wish for you all to buy my album “Chase the sun” 🙂

Much love!

Devin.
